Enough Snow!

Seriously, enough snow is enough snow. We have had more snow, here in Vermont and NH. We drove to NH last night. Good thing because the other grandpa came over this morning and it took him 4 hours for the 2 hour drive. The mountains were icing and the highway was covered in heavy wet snow. Easter forecast is for much warmer and partly sunny conditions. I sure hope so. We have 144 Easter eggs and a Pinata to deal with, hopefully outside.  The house is small and there will be 13 adults and 9 children here for a hunt. Think I’ll sleep in.

The tulips out front will be happy for the warm up and we will be happy to see the flowers!

Happy Easter everyone. Hope it is sunny and warm for you wherever you are.

sunflrfarm

I am rushing the season! It rained last night and we woke to the grass greening before our eyes.  The flowers that were not there yesterday when I raked, were sending little green shoots up through warming soil! Tulip leaves are looking like rabbit ears.

This little fella was scoping out the action on a farm last year. He wasn’t too concerned when we crept a little closer to get this shot. (pre-zoom lens!) We have a few lippity- lopping around the yard. I wonder if I will have any violets this year. These little shavers and the chucks shear the tops off the violets, violas and sunflower sprouts. That’s why I have to drive miles to shoot sunflowers!Sarcastic smile

Good Morning

morning dove

Good morning, Dove! We wake to subtle coos of this bird every morning. We have a nest, maybe two, in the barn next door. This morning this dove sat in the tree out back watching the lawn for the longest time. Maybe it had heard of the “early bird”.

We are so ready for green leaves and warm weather. This is not the best shot but I'm away at a conference and forgot my hard drive with my really good shots. Oh well, raindrops on webs are always a reminder of nature's gems for me. Peace
